Farewell Message to Seniors; 10 Ways to Succeed in College/Life

What time of year is it? Around my high school, the seniors will tell you it is time for them to leave! Yet each year, I never feel like I have finished teaching my students. I hate saying goodbye to seniors! I can't stop wanting to help them with their writing, their analysis skills, their desire to procrastinate, etc. So each year at graduation I hand out a farewell message to seniors.

My Farewell Message to Seniors

I decided to infuse my advice with vocabulary. After I finished writing my ten pieces of advice using vocabulary words, I couldn't help but create a similar writing prompt. To learn more, check out my Advice with Vocabulary activity.

Vocabulary-Tip-Sheets

In my farewell message to seniors I share my top ten pieces of advice for college/life (mostly college advice, but it can apply to community college that they all will hopefully attend at some point).

When I wrote my farewell message, I decided to infuse my advice with vocabulary. After I finished writing my ten pieces of advice using vocabulary words, I couldn't help but create a similar writing prompt. To learn more, check out my Advice with Vocabulary activity.

If you're having a hard time saying goodbye to seniors, feel free to give my message out to your seniors verbatim. Or you can use it as a model for your own or your students’ advice ideas.

Regardless of how you use it, for me, sending my “babies” off with a fun sheet of advice for them to pin up on a wall somewhere makes me feel a little better about their graduating, and I hope that they will take it to heart!
