I taught 7th grade English for 12 years and searched for a systematic way to teach grammar. I now teach in a primary school and found this grammar book. We use this in our 3rd grade reading class. It is the best systematic way I have ever used to teach the basics of grammar. The kids love the program and it is easy to administer. I wish I had had it when I taught 7th grade.
"Effective instruction invites students to engage in writing and rich conversations with each other about grammar and language in professionally published texts, their peers' texts, and in their own writing. Combined with explicit, in-context grammar and language instruction , these student-led instructional routines help students build the knowledge and skills needed to be critical readers and to express themselves and communicate with diverse audiences both inside and outside the classroom."
