Sometimes it's the simplest grammar activities that help students grasp a concept! The ***Subject-Verb Agreement Card Stack*** Grammar Activity teaches students to make correct subject-verb combinations.

## Instructions:

For this activity, students can work individually or in groups to make correct subject-verb combinations!

**Step 1:** If students work in groups, you will hand out a stack of subject cards and a stack of verb cards to each group.

**Step 2:** Students will match the correct verb tense with the agreeing subject.

**Step 3:** You will monitor progress and give immediate feedback.  

## Writing Connection:

Take the subject and verb combinations and have students write complete sentences. For instance, if students match “cooks” with “spoil” a student might write “Too many cooks spoil the meal.”
