Sadlier stands creative, faithful, and vigorous while major changes occur among other catechetical publishers

Dear Colleague in Ministry:

Over the past several months there have been major changes in the ownership and corporate structures of several educational and catechetical publishers here in the United States. We at William H. Sadlier, Inc. share your concerns about these changes.

We want to assure you that Sadlier still stands, creative, faithful, and vigorous. We remain the only Catholic family-owned and managed publishing company serving the needs of the Catholic parishes and educational institutions. Sadlier, for over 175 years, has been dedicated to the needs of the Catholic Church in the United States.

Because we are an independent publishing company, Sadlier will continue to respond to the directives of the Bishops regarding catechesis and the needs of the parishes and Catholic schools that we serve. All of our catechetical programs are submitted for review by the USCCB Ad Hoc Committee to Oversee the Use of the Catechism. We have worked in partnership with the Committee since its inception.

Sadlier will continue to respond to new educational initiatives and pedagogical theories as well. Our programs in mathematics, phonics, grammar, and vocabulary development are all research based and use the latest methodology to promote and to maintain the educational excellence of Catholic schools across the country.

Because we are a family company with a commitment to the Catholic Church and its catechetical and educational mission, we are able to help when there is a need. From the time of the great depression in the early 1930's, to the days following hurricane Katrina in 2005, Sadlier has reached out to offer Catholic parishes and schools ways to meet their needs and to continue their education mission. We stand by this commitment and will continue that tradition.

Our team of division managers, local sales representatives, catechetical, and educational consultants, many of whom have been with Sadlier 20 years and more, stand ready to serve the parishes and schools in their areas. The relationships Sadlier representatives have developed with local Church leaders ensure that we are offering the finest materials available. Those relationships guarantee that Sadlier will provide in-service and continuing formation for those who use our materials.

Sadlier remains strong in our commitment to serve the Catholic Church and its mission. If there is any way that we might serve more effectively, please let us know.

Respectfully,

Frank Sadlier Dinger           William Sadlier Dinger
