Words cannot express my gratitude for the honor you and your Company have bestowed on me, the F. Sadlier Dinger Award. I had the privilege of meeting your father several times when he came to the NCCL Annual Meeting.
His joy of life and his deep commitment to catechesis and catechetical ministers was evident in all he said and did. It is an honor and a blessing to receive and award given in his name.
Many of us in this room have heard you say with great delight that Sadlier was a family-owned business, a family-run business. While your statement was in reference to the ownership and operation of the business, I saw and experienced Sadlier as a family in a different sense. I am the oldest of seven, proud aunt of 11, and great aunt of 5, and oldest of 26 cousins. So I know family!
Sadlier is not just a family business, but Sadlier treats its customers as family. We always want the best for our family. We spend time with our family, we listen to our family, we try to help family. For my 44 years of ministry, that has been my experience of the Sadlier family.
The phone calls or visits always begin with How are you? What’s happening in your ministry? How can we help you? Only then do they begin with Let me tell you about our products.
I experienced this as a teacher, meeting reps at conventions. I experienced it as a DRE when sales reps visited, and I experienced it as a Diocesan Director. Just a week ago, when Greg Schweiker, our regional person, and Deborah Fox, our sales person, came to my office -- they asked the questions I just mentioned.
We know the quality that Sadlier consultants and speakers bring to any workshop. We’ve all been blessed at both local and national conferences by their expertise. They bring nothing but the best to the family. We are always enriched by Carole Eipers, Maureen Kelly, Dulce, Kathy, Victor, and others. With our fond thoughts, we remember John Stack and Marie Murphy and so many others who have served us over the years.
