North Carolina preschoolers soon to be investigators!
A decision by the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education, the North Carolina Office of Early Learning, and the North Carolina State Board of Education puts The InvestiGator Club® Inquiry-Based Preschool Curriculum, NC Edition at the top of the class. This Pre-K curriculum, created by Robert-Leslie Publishing and distributed exclusively by W.H. Sadlier, Inc. has been named to the "Approved List" for four year old classrooms in the North Carolina
Prekindergarten Program and four and five star rated programs, and qualifies programs to
receive a quality point toward the NC Star Rated License.
Pre-K classrooms with The InvestiGator Club® will tap into the scientist, explorer, and investigator in every child. This fully integrated, developmentally appropriate curriculum utilizes children's natural curiosity to build skills in ten critical learning domains, including language, literacy, science, and math.
Research has shown that high-quality early childhood programs and curricula build a strong foundation for later school and life success. "Time and time again, teachers tell us that The InvestiGator Club® produces happier kids, more confident teachers, and classrooms that hum with motivated, involved learners, but also, children who demonstrate significant cognitive, social emotional, and physical growth" said Beth Wise, program author and Editor-in-Chief at Robert-Leslie Publishing. "With this program, North Carolina is laying a strong foundation for children's future success in school."
An expert panel reviewed Pre-K curricula, rigorously evaluating them against eleven criteria ranging from a sound research base and evidence of effectiveness to appropriate guides to assist teachers and caregivers implementing the curriculum. Evidence gathered from an extensive national study conducted by the Educational Research Institute of America (ERIA) with more than 500 children in 32 classrooms shows that The InvestiGator Club® is significantly effective with all groups of children, including those considered "at-risk." Essentially, the program incorporates outstanding components, lesson and activities that are based on scientific evidence and "best practices" and puts them into action with inquisitive four-year-olds.
The InvestiGator Club®, NC Edition contains a Teacher Resource Guide that focuses on child-initiated learning, contains step-by-step plans for implementing the curriculum, and professional articles and research on every element of the curriculum. InvestiGator Club® products have received numerous awards, including the Teacher's Choice Award and Creative Child Magazine's Kids Product of the Year, Preferred Choice Award, and Seal of Excellence.
